WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Edge Project, a coalition of two dozen domestic organizations, released the following statement underscoring the importance of American AI leadership ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union address:

The United States and China are in a tight race for global technology leadership,” said Doug Kelly, CEO of the American Edge Project. “By prioritizing innovation, infrastructure, energy and talent, our nation’s AI action plan must position the U.S. for lasting leadership. In order to ensure America drives technological advancements pivotal to economic growth and national security, we need a single unified playbook, not 50 different state-based ones.”
