WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Edge Project, a coalition of nearly two dozen domestic organizations, today launched a new spot calling attention to the economic and national security stakes of losing the artificial intelligence (AI) race to China.
Ahead of the upcoming meeting between President Trump and President Xi Jinping, the video examines China’s rapidly advancing AI capabilities, as well as reports of Chinese cyberattacks and intellectual property theft against the United States. It also raises questions about whether China may be seeking to shape American debates over the infrastructure and innovation necessary for the United States to compete and maintain its technological leadership.
“China will stop at nothing to win the AI race and is moving aggressively to lead in the technologies that will shape our economy, national security and future,” said Doug Kelly, CEO of the American Edge Project. “America must continue to innovate, build the infrastructure necessary to compete and protect our technological edge.”
