WASHINGTON, DC — The American Edge Project, a coalition of nearly two dozen domestic organizations, today launched a new ad, Values, highlighting the high-stakes race between the United States and China to develop artificial intelligence (AI) and its profound implications for national security and economic prosperity.
The spot underscores how American leadership in both open- and closed-source AI will define the future of economic prosperity, national security, and the advancement of freedom. The ad contrasts America’s vision of innovation and opportunity with China’s approach, which is rooted in censorship, oppression, and control.
“Winning the AI race is about more than technology — it’s about preserving freedom, prosperity, and security for generations to come,”said Doug Kelly, CEO of the American Edge Project. “America must move urgently to protect its tech edge, or risk surrendering the future to China’s model of control and oppression.”
