WASHINGTON, DC — The American Edge Project, a coalition of two dozen domestic organizations, today launched a new ad campaign stressing the importance of America winning the high stakes race to pioneer the breakthrough technologies of the future. The spot, titled “Adversaries,” warns against misguided policies that will undermine American innovation and empower adversarial nations, namely China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.

“America’s adversaries are determined to erode our competitive edge and overtake the United States in developing the critical technologies of the future.” said Doug Kelly, CEO of the American Edge Project. “This high stakes competition will shape the future of the globe and the U.S. cannot afford to lose traction. That is why our leaders must come together to strengthen American innovation and ensure we don’t fall behind adversarial countries that don’t share our values in this race that will determine who defines the future.”

“America leads the world in innovation.

“But we’re in a race to develop tomorrow’s technologies with foreign adversaries that don’t share our values.

“Some politicians are pushing for misguided policies that will undermine America’s tech innovators and empower countries like China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.

“It’s a threat to our economy, a threat to our national security, and a threat to our democracy and freedom of expression online.

“Congress must strengthen, not weaken, American technology.”
