WASHINGTON, DC — The American Edge Project, a coalition of nearly two dozen domestic organizations, today launched a new ad, “Heaviest Price,” calling on Congress to address the real issues affecting American families — such as inflation and rising gas prices — instead of spending their time enacting unpopular anti-innovation legislation

A recent Ipsos poll found that the vast majority of likely voters – including those in midterm battleground states and districts – oppose anti-innovation proposals and want their elected officials to focus on inflation and the cost of living, national security, jobs, and health care. Furthermore, the survey found that voters see competition restrictions as misguided and believe they will harm America’s national security and economy.

“Hardworking families across this country are being crushed by surging gas prices, record levels of inflation, and continued supply chain problems,” said Doug Kelly, CEO of American Edge. “Congress needs to keep its focus on providing these families much needed relief, rather than enacting risky anti-innovation legislation that will undermine America’s national security and economic growth and prosperity.”

SCRIPT:

From the grocery store to the gas station, working families are getting hammered by rising prices.

But instead of focusing on inflation, Congress is pushing anti-innovation legislation that will impose more financial burdens on working people and

seniors.

Their misguided agenda could cost public pension plans one hundred and nine billion dollars.

Teachers, firefighters and nurses would pay the heaviest price.

Congress needs to focus on inflation — leave American workers alone.
